Locums Newborn Peds Hospitalist

Seeking a Board-Certified Newborn Pediatric Hospitalist for locums coverage at a well-supported inpatient facility. This is a daytime-only role focused on newborn care with strong specialist backup and no delivery attendance required.

Assignment Details:

• Start: ASAP (urgent April coverage needed)
• Ongoing Need: Through at least May 2026, with extension likely- looking to cover a maternity leave in the summer months
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM only
• Setting: Inpatient newborn unit

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Newborn rounds, consults, and call coverage
• Manage 10–18 patients per shift
• Light phone call responsibilities
• No requirement to attend deliveries
• Circumcisions not required

Support & Facility:

• RN-staffed unit
• In-house neonatology support
• Level III NICU available
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Active North Carolina license REQUIRED
• Active NC DEA REQUIRED
