Locums Anesthesiology Physician

We are seeking a Locums Anesthesiology Physician to provide full-time coverage in Margate, FL. This role offers a dynamic case mix, consistent weekday schedule, and structured call rotation within a high-volume surgical environment. Ideal candidates are experienced in general anesthesia and comfortable with OB and regional blocks.

 

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift Days: Monday–Friday
• Start Time: 7:00 AM (end time varies based on case completion/peel-out list)
• Weekly Hours: Approximately 40–45 hours
• Minimum Coverage: 20 shifts per month (full-time)
• Shift Structure: Option for 8s or 10s; peel-out model available

 

Call Requirements

• Weeknight Call (1:8):
• Beeper call only
• 1st call includes post-call day off
• 2nd call beeper (rarely called in)
• Weekend Call (1:8):
• In-house: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Covers OB and OR cases with resident and APP support
• Beeper Call: Begins Friday after shift through Monday AM (rarely called in)
• Additional Call Structure:
• 1st Call (Fri–Sun): 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, no overnight beeper
• 2nd Call: Home beeper call
• Mon–Fri: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekends/Holidays: 24-hour beeper call

 

Practice Setting

• High-volume surgical center with 800–900 cases per month
• Operating Rooms: 9 main ORs + 2 OB ORs
• Additional procedural areas: GI, TEE, EP, IR
• EMR: Medaxion
• Team-based care model with physician, APP, and resident support

 

Case Mix

• General Surgery
• Orthopedics (majority)
• OB/GYN (majority)
• Neuro & Spine
• Thoracic

 

Required Procedures

• OB anesthesia
• Regional blocks including:
• TAP blocks
• Supraclavicular blocks
• Adductor canal blocks
• Popliteal blocks

 

Requirements & Certifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Active Florida medical license
• Active Florida DEA
• ACLS certification
• Strong experience in general, OB, and regional anesthesia
