Locums Pediatric Anesthesiology Physician

We are seeking a Locums Pediatric Anesthesiology Physician to provide coverage at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Hollywood, FL. The role involves caring for pediatric patients across a variety of surgical specialties, initially focusing on healthy patients with gradual progression to more complex cases. Providers with experience in pediatric cardiology procedures (cath/EP) may have opportunities for expanded cases.

Schedule

• Shift Days: Monday–Friday
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekend Requirements: None
• On-Call Requirements: None

Practice Setting

• Facility: 298-bed hospital with 11 operating rooms
• Trauma Level: Level I Pediatric Trauma
• Case Mix:
• General Surgery, Orthopedics, GU, ENT, Dental
• 60% sick patients, 40% healthy patients
• Coverage Model: 60/40 solo coverage or 2:1 with medical direction

Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures

• Provide anesthesia for pediatric patients across multiple surgical specialties
• Perform IV placements and regional anesthesia if comfortable (not required)
• Monitor and manage perioperative patient care
• Ensure safe anesthesia delivery according to pediatric standards
• Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to optimize patient outcomes

Requirements & Certifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible not accepted)
• Completion of Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric anesthesia experience (no new grads)
• Active Florida medical license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
