Locum Tenens

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for locum tenens coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This role focuses on the management of high-risk pregnancies in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting a busy and well-established MFM practice.

 

Clinical Details

  • Average Scheduled Patients per Day: 27
  • High-Risk Pregnancy Volume: Approximately 95%
  • Nursery Level: Level III
  • Trauma Designation: N/A
  • EMR: Epic, Viewpoint

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients in office and inpatient settings
  • Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing management of complex maternal and fetal conditions
  • Collaborate closely with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary teams
  • Participate in care planning for patients with maternal or fetal comorbidities
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

 

Required Skills & Procedures

  • Amniocentesis
  • Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
  • Cerclage (preferred)
  • Management of high-risk conditions including:
    • Pre-eclampsia and hypertension
    • Multiple gestations
    • Fetal growth restriction
    • Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities
    • Pre-term labor
    • Thrombophilia
    • Birth defects and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities
  • Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

 

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited MFM fellowship
  • Active Virginia medical license
  • BLS certification
  • AIUM certification
