Locums Neurovascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Nurse Practitioner to support a busy Neurovascular Surgery service at a hospital in Richmond, Virginia. This position requires flexible availability, including night shifts and weekends, and offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, hospital-based setting.

Assignment Details:

• Setting: Hospital-based
• Shifts: Day and Night Shifts; 12-hour shifts
• Shift Schedule: 3 shifts/week
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On-Call Requirement: Yes
• EMR: Epic 

Scope of Practice:

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic neurovascular conditions
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Provide coordination of care across departments
• Serve as the first responder to all in-facility Code Stroke alerts
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary stroke and neurovascular surgery team 

Requirements:

• Certification: AANP (Nurse Practitioner Certified)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) – required
• Active Virginia NP license – required
• Prior experience in neurovascular, neurology, or stroke care is highly preferred
